My Crochet Head Warmer Pattern












Patti-Crochet Head Warmer
you'll need 2 buttons and embellishment of your
 Choice to put on the Flower or Bow

Abbreviations for stitches to be used:
Sc – single crochet
Dc – double crochet
Hdc – half double crochet
TR – Treble crochet
Sl st – slip stitch
Ch- chain
Beginning Stitches:
Start by Ch. 66

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from and in each ch across to end (65 sc) ch 5 now around to other side sc across ch 5 sl st top of beginning sc

Row 2: ch 1 sc in same space, sc across to end in ch (5 space work 2 sc, ch 3, 2 sc) work sc on around to other side (65 sc) – (in ch 5 space work 2 sc, ch 3, 2 sc) sl st top of beginning sc

Row 3: ch 1 – sc in same space hdc, dc, 59 tr, dc, hdc, sc, sc in the next 2 sc in the ch 3 space * (in the ch 3 space work 2 sc, ch 3, 2 sc)* (around other side (sc, hdc, dc, 59 tr, dc, hdc, sc) in ch 3 sp sc in each sc (2) * see above *work sc in next 2 sc sl st top of beginning sc.

Row 4: ch 1 sc in each sc to end in ch 3 space work (2 sc, ch 3, 2 sc) to the beginning sc ch 1,

Row 5: and Row 6: follow Row 4

Row 7: follow last row and in the ch 3 space work 5 sc, completed

Flower
Beginning:

Ch 5 joins sl st to form a ring

Round 1: ch 5 (count as dc and ch 2) [dc, ch 2] 5 times in ring, join to 3rd ch.

Round 2: ch 1, (sc, hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sc) in each ch-3 sp around – 6 petals
Round 3: holding round 2 forward *sc in dc from round 1, ch 3; repeat from * around; join.

Round 4: ch 1, (sc, hdc, dc, 3 tr, dc, hdc, sc) in each ch-3 spaces around – 6 petals

Round 5: holding round 4 forward; *sc in sc from round 3, ch 4; repeat *around; join

Round 6: ch 1, (sc, hdc, dc, 5 tr, dc, hdc, sc) in each ch – 4 space around – 6 Petals, fasten off.

Finishing: sew flower to wide portion of headband, sew button to opposite end (your button holes are the ch-3 space) weave all ends in.

   Bow's

Bow (make 1):
Part 1:

ch 21
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in all ch across (20 sc), turn
Row 2 - 4: ch 2, hdc in every stitch across, turn
Row 5: ch 1, sc in every st across, does not turn
now sc all around the piece, make 3 sc in each corner so the piece keeps shape. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Part 2:
ch 15

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn
Row 2 and 3: ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn
Row 4: ch 1, sc in each st across, fastens off. Weave in ends.

Make the bow:

Gather the middle of the large bow-piece by folding it gently, wrap the smaller piece around and, using a sewing needle, sew together. You can use sewing thread or you can leave one of the loose yarn ends on the smaller piece and use that to join your bow.
